Year 6 car club victory in Staffordshire

The Prep’s Year 6 car club had a very successful day at Curborough Sprint track in Staffordshire on Thursday 6 June at the Greenpower Goblin Championship organised by the  Greenpower Education Trust. After an early start, the team, Blue Lightning, raced their Goblin car, a single seat electric vehicle, in a series of drag, slalom and timed lap races. The sun shone as they zoomed down the track competing against approximately 50 other schools.

The team managed to build on their successes from last year, and took third place in the sprint event and victory in the drag race, an event which requires both speed and accuracy. Their success is testament to the girls’ hard work and co-operation since the team was formed in September.

Everyone is now looking forward to racing on the historic tarmac of Goodwood on the 30 June!
