STAHS students go global during half term

Date Posted: Friday 11 November 2022

Nearly one in five STAHS students took part in a School trip over half term, with most travelling overseas.

From the Modern Foreign Languages study trips to Berlin and Montpellier to the Classics visit to Sicily and the Politics trip to Washington DC, pupils were extending their learning all over the world.

Senior School Head Mrs Waite said: ‘STAHS pupils were scattered around the globe deepening their knowledge, expanding their horizons and making fantastic memories with their friends and teachers.’

There was also a Scholars’ visit to Cambridge during half term, which Mrs Waite attended. She said: ‘I had a terrific time slightly closer to home in Cambridge with the Atkins Scholars, with our visit to the Scott Polar Research Institute and Museum being a highlight for me (although punting on the Cam was a very close second!).

‘I am proud that we are able to offer so many opportunities for learning beyond the classroom, and find it amazing that nearly 20% of our pupils participated in a School trip over the half term break. I am grateful to our lovely staff who give up their holiday time to run and supervise such expeditions; we couldn’t do it without them!’
